Rabbits (Yr1) 2024 - 2025
Mrs Harrison
Welcome to our rigorous Rabbits' Class
What makes us rigorous Rabbits?
We, of course, are cute but we like to go much deeper into how to be a group of children who rigorously choose to be kind:
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Colossians 3:12
In Year 1 we choose to be rigorous in our enjoyment of learning, in being kind and respectful as we love our light to shine brightly.
Our teacher is Mrs Harrison.
Our teaching assistants are: Mrs Perkes (afternoons), Mrs Jamieson (1:1 Monday- Wednesday) and Miss Hibbert (1:1 Thursday and Fridays). Mrs Line teaches on Thursday afternoons.
Facts about rabbits:
- rabbits like to have company- We will enjoy being each other's company.
- their teeth never stop growing - Ours will! Let's hope there will be lots of wobbly ones this year.
- they drink a lot and can't vomit - We will aim to drink a lot and definitely not vomit!
- baby rabbits are called kittens or kits - We are not baby rabbits, we are bucks and does.
- carrots are their sweets-carrots are our 'go to' nutritious snack.
Our school day starts at 8:40am and home time is at 3:20pm.
PE days are Tuesday and Friday- please come to school dressed in your PE kit on these days.

Rabbits' Class Charter - How we can Let Our Light Shine |
We will listen to Mrs H so we grow our brains and learn lots. Celebrate! We want to be kind to each other, ourselves and our grown-ups. Choose kindness. We will look after our classroom and all the stuff in it. Love it. We will ask for help to keep problems small instead of making them bigger. Trust and help each other. |
Our Curriculum
At Tarporley we follow the BOOKS approach to our curriculum.
We want to be/have:
Bravery
Outward-facing
Opportunities
Knowledge and skills
Spirituality
Through our curriculum we aim to inspire children with these attributes and always look for moments in our day where we can be BRAVE and OUTWARD-FACING, look for new OPPORTUNITIES, build on our KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS, and take time to focus on our SPIRTUALITY.
