School Lunches

The school endeavours to provide a healthy school dinner with rolling three week menus (listed below) provided by Edsential Catering. The cost of a school dinner is £2.70 per day/ £13.50 per week. Payment is made online via ParentPay during the ordering process.  All children in Reception and KS1 (years 1 and 2) will receive a free school meal.

Orders are made via ParentPay and should be made before 8am on the day. Orders can be made 3 weeks in advance. The menus for each week can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

Some pupils will be eligible for free school meals. There have recently been some changes made to the thresholds for free school meals, so please call 0300 123 7039 to see if your child is eligible.

Birthday Lunch

bIRTHDAY CAKE.jpeg

A perfect opportunity for your to join your child as the 'Let Their Light Shine' on their birthday.

If you would like to join your child for lunch on their birthday, please book a hot meal with the office at least a week before the date (cost of £2.90 for adults).

It has been wonderful to see so many parents joining us on their children's birthday. If your child's birthday falls in a school holiday or weekend then please book another time to join your child for their 'Birthday Lunch'. We would be grateful if you do not book a meal for the first or last day of term, Christmas Lunch or any other themed menu day due to the high numbers on those days.

A hot midday meal is provided at school by Edsential Catering.

Packed Lunch

If your child brings a packed lunch please select this option on the ParentPay site. Please label the lunch box with their name and make sure that drinks are in non-breakable leak-proof containers. We are an accredited ‘Healthy School’ and as such we encourage children to eat healthily. Please do not send sweets or fizzy drinks in packed lunches and we recommend that chocolate or crisps are only sent once a week on Friday.

Within our school community we now have pupils and a member of staff who have a potentially life-threatening allergy (anaphylaxis) to foods, predominantly to peanuts and tree nuts (e.g. almond, cashew, hazelnut, pistachio).

We feel the best way to reduce their risk of accidental exposure is to respectfully ask for the co-operation of the parents/guardians within this school community to:

Do not send in items with peanut butter or products with nuts listed in the ingredients.

Allergies

Where a child has an allergen or intolerance to certain food groups, the school office will liaise with the child’s parents/guardians to obtain medical confirmation from their GP and/or Pediatric Dietician verifying the child’s ongoing dietary requirements for example egg intolerance. Once an allergy has been identified, and the documentation received, Edsential will provide suitable lunches. This will be reflected on the lunch ordering on ParentPay.

Supervision

Children remain on the school premises during the lunchtime break where they are supervised by midday supervisors. Your child will be encouraged to eat as much of their lunch as possible but we never force a child to eat. We will let you know if your child has any issues in eating their lunch.
