Our Headteacher - Mrs Kerry Forrester
Welcome to Tarporley CE Primary School
As Headteacher of our friendly Church of England primary school, I would like to warmly welcome you to Tarporley CE Primary School.
Our school is a special place where children are encouraged to let their light shine. We are proud of our Christian heritage and our strong sense of community, and we work in partnership with our families, our church and the wider community to ensure that every child is known, valued and supported to flourish.
At the heart of everything we do is our Christian vision:
‘Let Your Light Shine’ – Matthew 5:16
‘Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.’
Our vision inspires us to nurture children who are kind, courageous, compassionate and confident, with a strong sense of who they are and a desire to make a positive difference in the world around them.
Our Christian Values
Our Christian values underpin the life of our school and help us to create a caring, respectful and inclusive community.
Love • Friendship • Trust • Hope • Forgiveness • Joy & Celebration
We believe that children thrive when they feel safe, happy, valued and respected. We therefore place great importance on positive relationships, kindness, resilience and a strong sense of belonging.
We are proud of the warm and welcoming atmosphere within our school. Our children are encouraged to care for one another, embrace opportunities and challenges, and develop the confidence to become the very best version of themselves.
Our BOOKS Approach
Our curriculum is built around our distinctive BOOKS approach, which reflects our ambition for every child to flourish and live life in all its fullness.
Through our curriculum, we encourage children to:
Be BRAVE
Develop courage, resilience and confidence to try new things, take risks in their learning and learn from mistakes.
Be OUTWARD-FACING
Develop an understanding of the wider world, appreciate different cultures and perspectives, and recognise their responsibilities as members of their local, national and global communities.
Create memorable OPPORTUNITIES
Experience a rich range of opportunities beyond the classroom that inspire curiosity, develop interests and create lasting memories.
Develop KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills across the curriculum, enabling them to become confident, independent and successful learners.
Nurture SPIRITUALITY
Have opportunities to reflect, ask questions, explore their beliefs and develop a sense of awe and wonder about themselves, others and the world around them.
Alongside our BOOKS approach, high-quality books and reading are at the heart of our teaching and learning. We want every child to develop a lifelong love of reading and the knowledge, vocabulary and understanding that reading brings.
Our School Community
At Tarporley CE Primary School, we believe that education is about much more than academic achievement. We want our children to grow into happy, confident and compassionate young people who are ready to contribute positively to the world around them.
We work hard to create an environment where every child can flourish, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, and where children are encouraged to discover their strengths, celebrate their successes and support others.
Our principles are simple:
Keep the child at the heart of everything we do.
Value and respect everyone and everything.
Demonstrate a positive approach.
Work as a team.
Embrace challenges and opportunities.
We are fortunate to have a dedicated team of staff, supportive families, an active governing body and strong links with our church and wider community. Together, we create a school where children can learn, grow, flourish and let their light shine.
