Throughout the year children will read and write a variety of genres within narrative, non fiction and poetry.
It is beneficial if pupils read a variety of genres at home to support the writing process.

Summer Term
In the first half of the Summer term, our focus text is The Paperbag Prince by Colin Thompson. This wonderfully illustrated book, with its themes of protecting our environment and hope, will provide the stimulus for writing setting and character descriptions, as well as formal letters of complaint. We will also explore the classic poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud by William Wordsworth.
