Show and tell
Show and tell days:
Monday: Beeston
Tuesday: Chester
Wednesday: Cholmondely
Thursday: Peckforton
Friday: (Mystery Reader)
The learning endpoints for 'show and tell' are:
to speak with growing confidence and clarity (having an awareness of the audience)
to answer questions (with growing awareness of eye contact)
to listen respectfully (not talking over the speaker)
to ask a relevant question about the discussion
to feel proud for letting your light shine
We understand that sometimes their proud moment might not fall on the day of their house team but we will endeavour to find a few minutes in our busy day to hear that show and tell with Mrs H or Mrs Woods at break or lunchtime.
Do not feel you HAVE to do a show and tell every week. It is purely optional. Each child will have a few minutes to present and answer a question or 2. (longer than that and we will have a lot of wriggly children who are struggling to listen to the whole house's presentation.)
Things to show and tell: something of importance to them- a photo, a piece of work done outside of school, a piece of news...Please have a practice with them, letting them speak to explain what it is they are showing.
As always, if you anticipate an issue, please let Mrs H or Mrs Woods know in advance. Every moment is a learning moment.
