The Happiness Club

Dear Parents/Carers
We are all aware of the growing need to support the emotional well-being of young people today. Alongside our PSHCE (personal, social, health, emotional and economic) curriculum, we have an emotional management programme which supports children’s mental health and well-being. Known in school as The Happiness Club, the programme develops the use of skills and tools for children to be able to manage their emotions and develop positive thinking. Over the coming weeks, we will be revisiting each of the themes with our children. The tools and techniques we learn together, can be embedded into day-to-day life and we will be encouraging the children to share their learning with you at home.
Using a range of fun and effective exercises, the programme shows children how to:
• Think positively
• Trust their own instincts
• Embrace new ideas and situations
• Relax
• Make choices
• Find the good in every situation
• Talk about and manage emotions
• Choose their response
• Practice appreciation
• Be emotionally resilient
Details of the tools and skills, together with a poster for each key stage, can be found on our school website in the Parent Zone, Emotional Management Programme tab. Click here to go straight there.
Thank you for your support.
Kind Regards,
Mrs Griffiths
