Transition Information and Dates
A ‘Welcome to Tarporley New Starter Pack’ will be available to pick up from the school’s community entrance (straight ahead at the top of the stairs from Park Road) on Friday 7th June between 1pm and 3pm. You will also be picking up your child’s free school book bag (provided by our wonderful PTA) at this time. EYFS staff will be available to hand over the packs and say hello! Your packs will contain information about the school day, uniform, school dinners and the transition arrangements for September. There are also forms that will need to be filled in, signed and returned to the school office. Either on or before this date, please can you let the school know if your child attends a pre-school or nursery setting so we can contact them to arrange a handover, thank you. If you are unable to pick the pack up at this time, then it will be available in the school office from the following Monday during school hours.
Firstly, we will be holding a ‘Welcome to Tarporley’ meeting to be held in school on Monday 10th June at 4pm. This will be an opportunity to learn about all aspects of school life. I will introduce you to the staff who will be working with your child next year who will be able to tell you more about a day in EYFS and answer your questions. Please do not worry if you cannot make this date as the presentation will be sent via email and uploaded to our Reception class page (https://www.tarporleyce.cheshire.sch.uk/class/dormice-reception).
Below are the details of the arrangements for introducing you and your child to our school. We hope that at the end of these sessions you and your child will feel ready to start school in September:
- Wednesday 19th June – New Starter lunch and play – 11:30am-1pm
This will be an opportunity for you and your child to enjoy a school lunch together and have a play in the EYFS environment afterwards. Book your place through the school office.
- Tuesday 25th June – New Starter Stay & Play – 9am-10am
Children are invited to play in their new classroom! Parents have the option to stay and play with their child or come back after an hour.
- Thursday 4th July – New Starter Stay & Play – 9am-10am
Children are invited to play in their new classroom! Parents have the option to stay and play with their child or come back after an hour.
- Monday 15th July – New Starter Stay & Play– 9am-10am
Children are invited to play in their new classroom! We recommend that parents try to leave their child for the hour and grab a coffee!
