As part our of Geography learning, we have arranged for the children to attend the Anderton Boat Lift in Northwich for some fieldwork based on rivers. We will be exploring how rivers are formed, features of the River Weaver and taking a walk along the river. There will also be team-based activities which will also build resilience and develop collaboration and communication skills.

The visit for Year 4 is planned for Monday 13th May and we kindly ask for a voluntary contribution of £8.00 per child to cover the costs involved. This should be paid via the electronic payment system by Friday 3rd May, permission for this trip is also given via this method. Should we not receive sufficient contributions, we reserve the right to cancel the trip at short notice. It is the school’s policy, however, to remit charges for those parents whose children are eligible for Free School Meals.

We will be leaving the Community Centre at 9.15am so the children are to arrive at school as normal. Please ensure children are wearing school jumpers, comfortable trousers/leggings, have a coat and are wearing comfortable and appropriate shoes e.g. wellies or walking boots as we will be walking along the river. Depending on the weather, please bring a hat and sun cream as well. They will also need to bring a water bottle and packed lunch with them. Packed lunches from school can be ordered via our online meal selection system.

We plan to arrive back at school before 3.20 so please collect your child from their classroom as usual.
