Techniquest

All of the children in Reception this year LOVE building and creating models with a variety of resources and we have decided to follow this interest by taking a trip to Techniquest, which is a science discovery museum in Wrexham.

We will have the opportunity to explore the range of amazing resources at the museum but our main workshop will be in the Lego Education Innovation Studio. Here we will be working in pairs to build small birds from Lego by following visual instructions and beginning to recognise how design works. Using our investigation skills we will then find out how to make the birds spin and dance! We think this will be a valuable learning opportunity which will develop the children’s problem solving and investigative skills as well as their Design Technology, ICT and Science knowledge and understanding.

The high school have kindly agreed to let us borrow both their mini buses so there will only be a small charge of £3 for the workshop and entry to the museum. Please feel free to pop in and see me with any queries you may have.
