RotaKids is a group of children within school (6 from Kestrel class 20-21) who are responsible for organising fun activities that raise money for a charity, make a positive difference globally, improve the environment and support local projects. RotaKids is a great way for children in our school to get together and enjoy working on a fun project. They will lead the rest of the school and help them to learn about the importance of citizenship and respecting others, as well as themselves.
The Rotary Club of Tarporley are working with our school to help our RotaKids get the most fun and enjoyment from whatever they are working on.
This year Rotakids will be working on:
Children in Need 2020
Rotary Shoebox Scheme - Christmas 2020
Christian Aid week 9th May - 15th May 2021
As in previous years, we will be supporting the Rotary Shoebox Scheme which supports disadvantaged children and adults in Eastern Europe.
Rather than asking families to buy and fill a box, this year we are asking for donations and then we will fill the boxes ready for collection. There are 4 types of boxes:
A list of suggested items and those that cannot be included in the boxes is in the attached flyer. Please note that items can be new or as good as new.
Please send donations into school with your child by Friday 4th December.
- KS1 – please hand to your teacher who will have a collection box
- KS2 – please leave in the collection box at the bottom of the stairs
- Reception Foyer – there will be a collection box here too
We are hoping to fill 20 boxes that will go to families and children and for some, it will be the first real gifts they have received for a very long time.
Further information on the Scheme can be found at: https://www.rotaryshoebox.org/
Thank you in advance for helping us to ‘spread a little happiness’.
