Autumn in Reception
Class: Hedgehogs (Reception) Year: 2017 - 2018
Our Reception class have indeed "embraced" autumn during their first half term at school! You may have seen the article in the Chester Chronicle which mentions our apple harvesting and crumble making days! We also worked in the allotment and took full advantage of the mild weather by getting out as much as we could. We dug up the potatoes and used them along with the onions to make a tasty vegetable soup which we enjoyed in the wood. We made some herb scones as an accompaniment. We made leaves for our autumn display in the classroom and coloured them in autumnal colours with lashings of glitter! We discussed hibernation and made clay hedgehogs outdoors and then found cosy beds for them in the forest. Some of us also searched for autumn leaves, seeds and berries and made collages which are now displayed on the wall of our class. I wonder what we`ll do in winter?!
