We will be holiding half termly stay and play events for all 2020 new starters where the children have a play in our reception class and get to know the reception class teacher. Our first event is our Teddy Bears Picnic at 2pm on Thursday 18th July.

Due to the recent expansion of our school we can now take up to 45 pupils in reception.  If 30 or less children are offered a place with us then we will have 1 reception class however if 45 children are offered a place then we will have two reception classes.

Once you have made your decision on the school you would like your child to join then applications must be made through the local authority, Cheshire West and Cheshire Council.

For information on admissions please click on (this link will take you to the School Admissions page of Cheshire West and Chester Council).

The Cheshire West and Chester Council's information booklet  'Starting Primary School Admission Booklet' will also provide you with more information.

Cheshire  West  and  Chester  County  Council  policy  ensures  that  all  children  living  within  a  catchment  area  can  be offered a place at a school near to their home. However, parents can express a preference for a school which is not necessarily local to them. If the preferred school is below its admission limit for the relevant age group a place will be offered.

Where schools are over subscribed the priorities for admission are on the following basis:-

  • Pupils living within the school’s catchment area

  • Pupils with brothers or sisters in the school

  • Pupils for whom personal/domestic circumstances presented by parents justify, in the Authority’s view, admission to a particular school.

  • Pupils living nearest to the school.

The admissions of children during the school year is  managed by the school. If you have a child you would like to attend our school please contact Mrs Jan Lovelock or Mrs Jane Taylor in the school office on 01244 981230 to inquire if we have any places. They will be able to talk you through the admissions procedure.

If you would like to know more about our school, please feel free to contact us to make an appointment to visit.  We will be delighted to show you around our fantastic school.

In Year applications are made online to the local authority via the following link: 'In Year School Transfer'

Tarporley CE Primary Stay & Play

Once a half term our Reception classroom and fantastic outdoor learning spaces will be opened up for younger members of the community to come and enjoy with their parents or family members. Each session will last for 1 hour.  This is a fantastic opportunity for children to spend time with our reception teacher Mrs Davies and become familiar with the school environment. This makes transition to school a much smoother process with the children already confident in the classroom.
